Sauteed Banana Smoothie (Day 6 of 6)
Attention all Bananas Foster Fans!!!
OMG – If you want to have this for dessert…add some dark rum to make this a true Bananas Foster Smoothie & we wanna come to your place for dessert! This is out-of-this-world incredible without exaggeration!
The browned butter and sauteed banana adds a completely new dimension to an otherwise ordinary banana smoothie. We tried it with rum flavoring, but it was a bit off putting…besides, it was just incredible by itself. If you wanted to make a “lighter” version, use milk or coconut milk with the understanding that your smoothie won’t be quite as smooth, but the flavors should be there.
There is nothing more to say except…we saved the best for last. TRY IT – YOU’LL LOVE IT!
Ciao for Now!

Sauteed Banana Smoothie
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 banana
- 1 ½ cup half and half
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup ice
To a small frying pan, add the butter and heat over medium high heat until it sizzles. Cut the banana in ½ inch slices and add to the sizzling butter.
Cook banana on one side for about 3 minutes until lightly browned. Flip the banana over and cook on the other side for 2-3 minutes until both sides are crispy and brown.
Transfer banana and remaining browned butter to the blender. Add the half and half and the rest of the ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.
Transfer to a glass and top with cinnamon and nutmeg.
